Summer Camp frequently asked questions

Magic Summer Day Camp is conveniently located in Bayside, Queens at 79-43 Bell Boulevard.

Magic Summer Day Camp's summer camp home base is conveniently located in Bayside, Queens. We are delighted to occupy the facility we call our home base each summer. 

Our home base allows us to meet the summer camp needs of our campers and their families. Our summer camp programs are thoughtfully curated by our dedicated team of summer camp directors and are sure to exceed your family's expectations. Immaculately clean, safe and air conditioned, our in indoor and outdoor facilities allows all of our activities to take place when we are not on trips. 

The facility boasts a full auditorium for all of our theatre and showcase needs, as well as some of our open houses.  It also has an official well-lit indoor gym and outdoor playground. The facility is fully equipped with fire sprinklers, jungle gyms, tennis courts, basketball courts, softball courts, and a picnic area for our outdoor lunches that the campers look forward to, and so do we. All of these areas are supervised by trained adult counselors. 
Summer camp hours are from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. However, your child may be picked up between 7:00 am - 8:30 am, depending on where you live. Your child will be home between 4:15 pm - 6:00 pm depending on where you live. Magic Summer Day Camp offers early day drop off and extended day pick up.
Yes! Campers can be dropped off at our summer camp home base in Bayside, Queens as early as 7:30 a.m, daily. And, they may be picked up at our home base as late as 6:00 p.m., daily.

Early drop off and pick up are not included in the standard summer camp tuition. Please contact us for rates.

Please note also, that unfortunately, we are unable to provide transportation to campers who need to be dropped off early or those who participate in our extended day program.

No. At Magic Summer Day Camp, you can enroll your child for as little as two weeks, or, for the entire summer, or, any amount of weeks your family requires.

Not all campers start camp at the beginning of the summer, many campers start and end at different points throughout the summer.
Magic Summer Day Camp is a privately owned summer day camp that has successfully operated for more than 40 years.

Magic Summer Day Camp is conveniently located in Bayside, Queens and has provided generations of summer campers with a safe and rewarding summer camp experience in an environment to that allows them to explore new and enriching experiences that foster both mental and physical growth.

At Magic Summer Day Camp, we believe all children need a safe and supervised, environment to develop into well rounded youth, and eventually adults.

Magic Summer Day Camp Directors and Head Counselors are experienced and/or, New York State Certified teachers or New York City Department of Education employees who that are trained in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Responding to Emergency (RTE) methods. Many are also certified in the administration of the EpiPen.

Magic Summer Day Camp maintains an exceeded ratio of counselors to campers. Every employee is screened and background checked. With daily swimming, daily trips, sports programs, dance programs, parks, state of the art facilities, celebrations, and incredible summer days; "everyday is truly magical!"
Your child should have a swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen, a water bottle and whatever personal items they might need throughout the summer camp day (e.g. a hat to shield from the sun, or glasses if they wear them).

We strongly suggest campers bring at least one bottle of water and a snack with them daily. Water is available at all times for all campers, and lunch is included in the cost of summer camp tuition.

We find that children often prefer their own snacks. Plus, some kids become thirsty and hungry when the day is over, and they are relaxing on the bus heading home.

Magic Summer Day Camp's tuition is extremely competitive as compared to other summer day camps. We offer an affordable summer camp experience, without sacrificing the amazing summer camp experience our campers and their families have come to expect from Magic Summer Day Camp. We also offer numerous discounts, including sibling discounts and discounts for those who choose not to use our summer camp pick up and drop off services.

For those who rely on it, transportation service is one of the most important components of your child’s summer camp experience.  It is why the cost of transportation is included in our summer camp tuition. 

 We know that our bus company partner is a direct reflection of Magic Summer Day Camp and because of this, we partner with only the most highly rated bus companies in our region. 

Our bus drivers are the first people you and your child will see from our camp each morning.  Further, a counselor from Magic Summer Day Camp is always on the bus when your child is being picked up and dropped off.

Our bus drivers are full-time school bus drivers, who transport children throughout the school year. Over the summer, our bus drivers get to know and love your children and your family.  Our summer camp bus drivers are known for their friendliness and relentless attention to safety.  They are respectful, courteous and professional, and will pick up and drop off your child on time and on schedule.  Our summer camp bus drivers will never ever leave a child unattended at any time.

All of our summer camp bus drivers have children of their own and understand the important role they play in this part of your child’s summer camp day. They often play the latest pop tunes for the campers to sing along while riding to another magical summer day camp adventure. 

Plus, all of our buses are air conditioned. And, parents are able to safely and securely track the location of their children’s buses during summer camp pick up and drop off times via a safe and reliable app on their phones. 
Yes, we hold open houses throughout the year and a camper orientation in June. Parents are encouraged to check our website for open house dates and to call or email with questions/concerns at anytime.
We provide door to door transportation to families EVERYWHERE in Queens at no additional cost! That's right, transportation is included in the cost of summer camp for everyone residing in Queens. We also offer summer camp transportations options for children residing in New Hyde Park, Elmont, Valley Stream, Stewart Manor, Bellerose Village, Floral Park, and Garden City.
Yes, every camper must have a completed medical form prior to the start of their camping session.
Yes! Please use the following Federal Tax ID# 464486403 when filing your tax return.
Your child will receive 3 Magic Summer Day Camp T -shirts. Every camper MUST wear their Magic Summer Day Camp T-shirt summer camp every day. Your child should wear a bathing suit for the pool under their clothing. Sneakers and socks must be worn each day.
Please contact us as soon as possible, we will do our best to locate the item. We do our best to ensure that your children are sent home with all of their belongings every day.

Lost items are often found in the lost and found bin at our home base in Bayside.

We ask that you label everything your child will be wearing or carrying. We also ask that you do not send your child to summer camp with valuable items.

Please note that we are NOT responsible for personal belongings lost at camp.
